Join L&L Artisan Collective

Requirements to become a member of the L&A Artisan Collective and some other pertinent details

$60 annual membership per person
Must commit to 3 out of 4 yearly shows. Absence at show is not acceptable without a VERY reasonable explanation.  We are making every effort for the shows to be a varied and desirable event for both the participants and the public.
Each member is expected  to  volunteer  extra time to help promote the collective and make the shows run smoothly. Jobs available can be discussed or if you have a suggestion please speak up.
Please remember that everyone involved in the collective is volunteering their time and no one is being paid to facilitate these events.

The collective and the shows are juried and it is expected that anything not made by the collective members will not be for sale at the shows. This means everything in your designated space at the show that is for sale must be handmade by you. If during a show it is noticed that you are selling items not made by you, said items will be asked to be removed  from  your area. Also membership from the collective will be rescinded and no money will be reimbursed.

* Exclusion to above rule includes art supplies, books and magazines. We will always have an area at the shows to allow us to sell any unused or unwanted artisan related items. Thus they may find a loving home. If you wish to participate in this option during a show please let the main coordinators know.*

Please be respectful of other artisans at the show. Before moving tables please discuss it with your neighbor to make sure you are not blocking their products or movement.
Beginning to pack up/take down before the show’s close time is unacceptable. We all know that when traffic slows it can be discouraging and even boring. Please be aware that being a participating artisan at a show means you have committed to the scheduled show times.
You will have access to the kitchen at these events (if for any reason this changes you will be notified). You are welcome to store food in the fridge or elsewhere in the kitchen. Please label it accordingly, and please everyone be respectful of belongings that are not yours. Coffee, tea and water are provided for the vendors(only vendors). Otherwise beverages are available for $1. The small canteen/café area is a way for the collective to make a little money towards expenses. Food is donated by members.
The canteen/café will be run by an outside volunteer who will be reimbursed with volunteer money. This money will be able to be spent at the show to purchase something from a participating artisan. All artisans will be reimbursed at the end of the show from the collective for any volunteer money they may have accepted during the show.
Any collective artisans who wish to have images included on marketing options need to send images to the volunteer designer. Presently we are doing postcards twice a year with varied imagery on them. 8 by 10 posters will also be done for each upcoming show. Please assure that the images are print ready.
As for other marketing, this will be discussed on a continous basis as the collectives kitty grows. All money taken in will be used for event rental expenses and marketing.

For each show applications will be accepted from students for a free space at 1 show. The plan is that at each show it will be possible for one emerging artisan to have a space in order to show and sell their work.
